These activities challenge students’ higher-level thinking skills and offer teachers an excellent evaluation tool! The book is divided into four activity sections: Solving Problems Creatively, Is It Logical?, Think About It, and Possibilities.

Each activity is conducted by a group leader. Two minutes should be allowed for direction and ten to twelve minutes for skill involvement. You may, of course, choose to change the time structure and use more than one activity. There is diversity in the degree of difficulty. Easier activities are found in the beginning of each section.

The first page of each activity section contains directions for scoring. Activities may be scored as individual or team efforts. If an individual effort is used, one point is awarded for each answer on each student’s activity sheet. If a team effort is used, the group leader may choose to record the team’s answers as team members call them out and total them at the end of the time limit. One point is awarded for each correct team answer. A team score sheet is provided. Grades 3-6.

Note: The activities in this book originally appeared in Books 3 and 4 of the Thinkathon Series.
